SUBCHAPTER KFEDERAL FIREARMS DISABILITIES
RULE §27.144Correction of Records

(a) A person may correct or supplement department records relating to a federal prohibited person by providing the following information:

  (1) a copy of a judicial order or finding that a person is no longer an incapacitated adult or is entitled to relief from disabilities under Texas Health and Safety Code, §574.088; or

  (2) proof that the person has obtained notice of relief from disabilities under United States Code, Title 18, §925.

(b) Information described by subsection (a) of this section may be forwarded to:

  (1) Texas Department of Public Safety, Crime Records Service, P.O. Box 4143, Austin, Texas 78765-4143; or

  (2) this designated e-mail address: AFIS_CJIS@txdps.state.tx.us.

(c) The department will verify information submitted under this section and forward the information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
