SUBCHAPTER VTEXAS SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATHEMATICS CHALLENGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
RULE §22.573Eligible Students

(a) To receive an initial award through the T-STEM Program, a student must:

  (1) graduate from high school with a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in mathematics and science courses;

  (2) enroll in a T-STEM program, as defined in §22.571 of this title (relating to Definitions), at an eligible institution;

  (3) agree to work no more than 15 hours per week for a business participating in the STEM program; and

  (4) have a statement on file with the institution of higher education indicating that the student is registered with the Selective Service System as required by federal law or is exempt from Selective Service registration under federal law.

(b) To receive a continuation award through the T-STEM Program, a student must:

  (1) have previously received an initial award through this program;

  (2) remain enrolled in a T-STEM program at an eligible institution;

  (3) maintain an overall grade point average of at least 3.0 on a four-point scale;

  (4) complete at least 80 percent of all semester credit hours attempted for each semester in the prior year;

  (5) complete at least 30 semester credit hours in the prior academic year, as calculated in keeping with institutional policies; and

  (6) work no more than 15 hours a week for a business participating in the STEM program.
