(a)Beginning on September 1, 2004, a dental assistant may not position or expose dental x-rays unless the dental assistant holds [either] a certificate of registration issued by the State Board of Dental Examiners under this section[, or was issued a certification under former §115.10 (now recodified as §114.10) prior to September 1, 2004. This section shall expire in its entirety on September 1, 2006]. (b)To be eligible for a certificate of registration as a dental assistant this section, an applicant must present on or accompanying an application form approved by the State Board of Dental Examiners proof of satisfactory to the Board that the applicant has: (1) - (2)(No change.) (3)Either: (A)taken and passed a course of instruction [ an examination] administered by the State Board of Dental Examiners or its designated agent, that covers: (i) - (iii)(No change.) (B)if the applicant is certified as a dental assistant by the Dental Assisting National Board, taken and passed a jurisprudence assessment [examination] administered by the State Board of Dental Examiners or its designated agent. (c) - (g)(No change.)
