Texas Register Preamble

The Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists adopts an amendment to §463.11, concerning Licensed Psychologist, without changes to the proposed text as published in the July 7, 2000, issue of the Texas Register (25 TexReg 6466).

The rule is being amended in order to clarify the requirements necessary to obtain licensure and to provide more flexibility to meet Texas licensing requirements for those individuals who have been actively licensed in other jurisdictions for at least 15 years and are now in good standing.

The amended rule will ensure that only qualified and competent applicants receive licensure and to allow greater access to qualified and experienced psychologists who are in good standing with other jurisdictions.

No comments were received regarding adoption of the amendment.

The amendment is adopted under Texas Occupations Code, Title 3, Subtitle I, Chapter 501, which provide the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists with the authority to promulgate rules consistent with the Statute.
