(a) Acting as surety. A local public official commits a criminal
offense if the official knowingly:
(1) acts as surety for a business entity that has work, business,
or a contract with the charter holder; or
(2) acts as surety on any official bond required of a member
of the governing body or charter school, or of an officer of the charter school.
(b) Knowing violation of requirements. A local public official
commits a criminal offense if the official knowingly violates Local Government
Code, §171.004, as applied by these rules.
