(a) The state fire marshal is authorized and directed
to enforce the provisions of Insurance Code Chapter 6003 and this
subchapter. The state fire marshal must make, or cause to be made,
inspections from time to time and as circumstances dictate to determine
that licensed firms and persons engaged in the business act in conformity
with the requirements of the law and this subchapter.
(b) Such inspections shall be made by the state fire
marshal or the state fire marshal's representative. When an inspection
discloses violations of the law or this subchapter, the firm or person
responsible for correcting the violation shall be notified within
30 days after completion of the inspection report. In all cases in
which a violation is not corrected within a reasonable time, the state
fire marshal shall take such steps as may be necessary to enforce
correction of the violation and may initiate appropriate administrative
action.
