(a) Requirement to Notify. Notification, or diligent
efforts to notify, must be made to the parent(s), guardian(s), and
custodian(s) of a juvenile who has died or who is the alleged victim
of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
(b) Time of Notification. The notice or efforts to
notify required by subsection (a) of this section must be made as
soon as possible, but no later than 24 hours from the time a person
gains knowledge of or has a reasonable belief that the allegation
of abuse, neglect, or exploitation or the death of a juvenile occurred.
(c) Method of Notification. The notice or efforts to
notify required by subsection (a) of this section may be made by phone,
in writing, or in person.
(d) Documentation of Notification. The notice or efforts
to notify required by subsection (a) of this section must be documented
on TJJD's Incident Report Form and in the internal investigation report.
