(a) After a conditional job offer is made and accepted,
the department will require that an applicant for a physically demanding
position pass a medical examination to verify that the applicant is
able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without
reasonable accommodation. For purposes of this subsection, "physically
demanding position" means a full-time, part-time, temporary, project,
or seasonal position that the director of the Human Resources Division
has determined requires the performance of one or more essential functions
that involve a high level and long duration of physical exertion.
(b) The department may designate practicing physicians
to make the physical examination of applicants.
