(a) An assisted living facility must:
(1) furnish, in one or more facilities, food and shelter
to four or more persons who are unrelated to the proprietor of the
establishment; and
(2) provide:
(A) personal care services; or
(B) medication administration by a person licensed
or otherwise authorized in this state to administer the medication.
(b) An assisted living facility establishment may provide:
(1) assistance with or supervision of medication administration;
(2) health maintenance activities in accordance with §553.263
of this chapter (relating to Health Maintenance Activities); and
(3) skilled nursing services for the following limited
purposes:
(A) coordinate resident care with an outside home and
community support services agency or other health care professional;
(B) provision or delegation of personal care services
and medication administration, as described in this chapter;
(C) assessment of residents to determine the care required;
and
(D) delivery, for a period not to exceed 30 days, of
temporary skilled nursing services for a minor illness, injury, or
emergency.
