| (a) Chairperson. (1) The chairperson shall preside at all meetings at which he or she is in attendance and perform all duties prescribed by law or this chapter. (2) The chairperson is authorized by the board to make day-to-day decisions regarding board activities in order to facilitate the responsiveness and effectiveness of the board. (b) Vice-chairperson. (1) The vice-chairperson shall perform the duties of the chairperson in case of the absence or disability of the chairperson. (2) In case the office of the chairperson becomes vacant, the vice-chairperson shall serve until a successor is appointed.
