TITLE 19EDUCATION
PART 1TEXAS HIGHER EDUCATION COORDINATING BOARD
CHAPTER 5PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
SUBCHAPTER CCRITERIA FOR APPROVAL OF NEW MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAMS
RULE §5.45Unnecessary Strictures
Repealed Date:05/28/2003

The proposed degree program must be free of unnecessary strictures yet have stringent requirements which promote effective academic attainment. Graduate programs that have unusually restrictive prerequisites are often underpopulated and cause a heavy strain upon the resources of the institution. Such programs cannot contribute to the free and open availability of graduate education.
