| (a) The purpose of the Advisory Board on Cosmetology
is to advise the Commission and department on adopting rules, setting
fees, and enforcing and administering the Act, as applicable.
(b) The board is composed of nine licensees and persons
specified in the Act. Board members will serve staggered six-year
terms.
(c) Expenses can be reimbursed to board members only
when the legislature has specifically appropriated money for that
purpose, and only to the extent of the appropriation.
(d) Expense reimbursements to board members are limited
to authorized expenses incurred while traveling to and from board
meetings and shall be limited to those allowed by the State of Texas
Travel Allowance Guide, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
policies governing employee travel allowances, and the General Appropriations
Act.
