(a) To apply for an Instructor certification for a
particular type of Offender Education Program, an individual must:
(1) submit a completed application on a department-approved
form for the applicable Offender Education Program;
(2) submit proof of meeting the eligibility requirements
under §90.21; and
(3) successfully pass a criminal history background
check by the department.
(b) There is no fee paid to the department to apply
for the Instructor certification.
(c) If the department determines that the Instructor
Applicant has met the requirements under subsection (a), the department
will notify the Instructor Applicant that the Instructor Applicant
has been accepted to enroll in the department-approved and sponsored
Offender Education Instructor training course for the applicable Offender
Education Program.
(d) Upon successful completion of the department-approved
and sponsored Offender Education Instructor training course, including
testing and any retesting, and absent any other reasons for denial,
the Instructor Applicant will receive certification from the department
as an Instructor for the applicable Offender Education Program.
