The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter,
shall have the following meanings.
(1) Board--The Texas Higher Education Coordinating
Board.
(2) Commissioner--The Commissioner of Higher Education,
the Chief Executive Officer of the Board.
(3) Public Junior College--As defined in Texas Education
Code, §61.003(2).
(4) Public Technical College--A component part of the
Texas State Technical College System.
(5) Public State College--As defined in Texas Education
Code, §61.003(16).
(6) Public technical institute--As defined in Texas
Education Code, §61.003(7).
(7) Interested persons--Persons who attend Council
meetings as representatives of stakeholder entities and any other
persons who have made their interest in the work of the Council known
to its presiding officer. Such interested persons may participate
in Council discussions, as invited by the presiding officer to do
so, but do not have the authority to cast votes.
