| (a) The executive director of the board may issue a temporary license to an applicant: (1) who has passed the Texas medical jurisprudence examination; (2) whose completed application has been filed, processed, and found to be in order; and (3) who has met all other requirements for licensure. (b) Each applicant shall receive only one temporary license prior to the issuance of a permanent license. The board, in unusual circumstances, may allow the issuance of one additional temporary license if it finds it is in the best interest of the public health and welfare. These exceptions are reviewed by the executive director on a case-by-case basis. |
