You may use a trampoline for supervised training programs,
such as gymnastics, diving, and other competitive sports if you meet
the following requirements:
(1) You must prohibit the use of the trampoline when
there is no trampoline supervisor present;
(2) The trampoline supervisor must have formal training
and experience in the use of the trampoline and knowledge of trampoline
safety and spotting techniques;
(3) When the trampoline is in use, personal spotters
must be present, ready to intervene, and posted on four sides of each
trampoline;
(4) You must prohibit any child younger than six years
old from using the trampoline, even in supervised training programs;
(5) A safety pad must cover all portions of the steel
frame and springs;
(6) The surface around the trampoline must have an
impact absorbing surface material;
(7) Only one child at a time may use a trampoline,
regardless of the size of the trampoline;
(8) Children must not be allowed to jump off the trampoline.
If the trampoline is above ground, children must dismount the trampoline
by sitting on the edge and sliding off;
(9) The trampoline must be secured and inaccessible
when not in use;
(10) The condition of the trampoline must be checked
for tears, rust, and detachments at least monthly and repaired prior
to its next use; and
(11) The child using a trampoline must be at the center
of the mat and must not attempt to do maneuvers beyond the child's
capability or training.
