The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter,
have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates
otherwise.
(1) Issuer--Those entities that offer a health benefit
plan as identified in Insurance Code §1454.002.
(2) Physician--A person licensed by the Texas State
Board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine and surgery in this
state.
(3) Provider--A hospital, nurse practitioner, registered
nurse, physician assistant, home health aide, nurse midwife, surgery
center, or other outpatient care center.
