| (a) This subsection contains the procedure used to
determine the annual whole application rate (AWAR) for a biosolids
that does not cause the annual metal loading rates in Table 4 of §312.43(b)(4)
of this title (relating to Metal Limits) to be exceeded. Determine
the AWAR using the following procedure.
(1) Analyze a sample of the biosolids to determine
the concentration for each of the metals listed in Table 4 of §312.43
of this title.
(2) Using the metal concentrations from paragraph (1)
of this subsection and the AMLRs from Table 4 of §312.43 of this
title, calculate an AWAR for each metal using Equation B.1.
(3) The AWAR for the biosolids is the lowest AWAR calculated
in paragraph (2) of this subsection.

(b) Domestic Septage. The annual whole application
rate for domestic septage applied to agricultural land, forest, or
a reclamation site shall be equal to or less than the annual whole
application rate calculated using Equation B.2.
