CHAPTER 52STOCKING POLICY
RULE §52.202Conditions for Stockings Made or Authorized by the Department

(a) If warranted, the areas into which a species is introduced will be under the control of the department for a period sufficient to establish the species. Control may be achieved by written permission granted by the landowner that contains specific mention of the species to be introduced.

(b) Sufficient area around the release site may be closed to the taking of the introduced species until the restoration objective is achieved.

(c) The areas shall have suitable natural habitat capable of sustaining the animals stocked.

(d) Other protected animal populations which interfere during the period of establishment may be temporarily suppressed only with department approval.

(e) No adverse impacts will result on a federally listed threatened or endangered species or its critical habitat.
