| (a) The amount of a death benefit payment granted to an eligible recipient shall be $25,000 and payment processing will be initiated by the coordinator, with the approval of the director of the Law Enforcement Division and the chairman, to occur within 15 working days after the death occurs. (b) At each meeting, the committee shall review all disbursements of death benefits made by the coordinator since the last committee meeting and may increase the amount of any death benefit or approve additional death benefits. (c) This section applies to any death occurring on or after October 1, 2008. |
