SUBCHAPTER KACKNOWLEDGMENT PROGRAM
RULE §12.352Definitions

The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter, have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

  (1) Acknowledgment--A notification that is intended only to inform the public that a highway-related service is sponsored by a participating sponsor.

  (2) Acknowledgment sign--A sign that is located adjacent to the traveled way and that is intended only to inform the traveling public that a highway-related service is sponsored by a participating sponsor.

  (3) Department--The Texas Department of Transportation.

  (4) Participating sponsor--An individual, corporation, business, firm, group, or association that contributes towards a highway-related service.

  (5) TMUTCD--Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices issued by the department.

  (6) Vendor--An individual or business that acts as the authorized agent of the department in the marketing, administration, and soliciting of a participating sponsor for the acknowledgment program.
