| (a) Registration requirements. To be eligible for a
permit under this subchapter:
(1) a vehicle or combination of vehicles must be registered
under Transportation Code, Chapter 502; and
(2) the owner of the vehicle or combination of vehicles
must be registered as a motor carrier under Transportation Code, Chapter
643 or 645.
(b) Prohibition for unpaid penalties. The Authority
may not issue a permit under this subchapter:
(1) to a person or company that is prohibited under
Transportation Code, §623.271 from being issued a permit; or
(2) for a vehicle that is prohibited under Transportation
Code, §623.271 from being issued a permit.
