The purpose of this subchapter is to: (1) ensure that the health, safety, welfare, rights, and privileges of an individual residing in a state mental retardation facility (state MR facility) are protected when staff recommend utilizing highly restrictive procedures or restricting rights or privileges to address the individual's inappropriate behavior; (2) outline policies and procedures for developing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting behavior therapy programs; and (3) describe principles that support and enhance the practice of applied behavior analysis and behavior therapy. |
