RULE §112.6Allowable Emission Rates--Sulfuric Acid Plant

(a) Except as provided in §112.5 of this title (relating to Allowable Emission Rates--Sulfuric Acid Plant Burning Elemental Sulfur) and in §112.14 of this title (relating to Allowable Emission Rates--Nonferrous Smelter Processes), no person may cause, suffer, allow, or permit emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO[sub]2[/sub]) from any sulfuric acid plant to exceed the emission limits specified by the equation:

Attached Graphic (b) If a source has an effective stack height less than the standard effective stack height determined by the equation:

Attached Graphic (c) Beginning September 30, 1994, sulfuric acid plants of greater than 300 tons per day production capacity, with production expressed as 100% acid, and to which this section applies, shall be equipped with a continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) for SO[sub]2[/sub]. The CEMS shall be installed, calibrated, and operated as specified in 40 Code of Federal Regulations Part 51, Appendix P, hereby incorporated by reference.
