CHAPTER 3PUBLIC INFORMATION
SUBCHAPTER CCOMPLAINT RESOLUTION
RULE §3.22Definitions

The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

  (1) Complainant--A person who files a complaint.

  (2) Complaint--An oral or written statement, including an electronic complaint submitted under §3.23(c) of this subchapter (relating to Filing a Complaint), concerning a matter which the department has the authority to resolve, and that:

    (A) expresses dissatisfaction about:

      (i) a department policy, program, procedure, action, or operation; or

      (ii) an action or operation of a department contractor; and

    (B) requests or implies that the department respond or take some action.

  (3) Department--The Texas Department of Transportation.

  (4) Person--An individual, firm, corporation, company, partnership, or other legal entity.
