As used in this subchapter, the following words have the following
meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
(1) The term "child" means:
(A) a person under the age of 18 years in the managing
conservatorship of DFPS; and
(B) a young adult who was in the conservatorship of
DFPS on the child's 18th birthday and who receives extended foster
care services pursuant to a voluntary agreement conferring placement
and care responsibility for the young adult on DFPS;
(2) The terms "child care services," "treatment services,"
"emergency care services," and "additional programmatic services"
have the same meanings as provided in Child Care Licensing minimum
standards at §748.61 of this title (relating to What types of
services does Licensing regulate?);
(3) The term "DFPS" means Department of Family and
Protective Services; and
(4) The terms "foster home," "foster group home," and
"general residential operation" have the same meanings as provided
in §42.002, Human Resources Code.
