(a) A local ombudsman entity must ensure each LTC facility
in the ombudsman service area is visited by a certified ombudsman
in accordance with the Ombudsman Policies and Procedures Manual during
each federal fiscal year to:
(1) monitor residents' health, safety, welfare, and
rights; and
(2) receive, investigate, and resolve complaints on
behalf of residents.
(b) A local ombudsman entity must submit activities
and casework, as described in the Ombudsman Policies and Procedures
Manual, to the Office by entering information into the ombudsman database
by 8:00 a.m. on:
(1) the 16th day of each month if the 16th is a business
day; or
(2) if the 16th day of the month is not a business
day, the first business day immediately following the 16th.
