(a) Within limits, a foster parent may restrict a child’s
activities as a behavior management tool.
(b) Restrictions of activities, that will be imposed
on a child for more than 14 days, must be reviewed with and approved
by the child placement management staff or treatment director prior
to or within 24 hours of imposing the restriction.
(c) Restrictions to a particular room or building that
will be imposed on a child for more than 24 hours must have approval
from the service planning team, a professional service provider, or
treatment director prior to or within 24 hours of imposing the restriction.
(d) You must inform the child and parent about any
such restrictions you place on the child.
(e) Documentation of all approvals, justification for
the restriction, and informing the child and parents must be in the
child’s record.
