(a) The department may establish check stations in
any county of the state for the purpose of collecting biologic information
on wildlife resources taken in that county.
(b) Except as required under §65.40 of this title
(relating to Pronghorn: Open Seasons and Bag Limits) or Subchapter
B of this chapter, the entire wildlife resource, with head and hide/plumage
attached, except that internal and sexual organs may be removed (field-dressed),
of any designated wildlife resource taken in a county in which mandatory
check stations have been established must be presented:
(1) to a designated check station agent within 24 hours
of take; and
(2) by the person or representative of the person who
killed the wildlife resource.
(c) Check stations shall be under the direction of
an agent designated by the department. Agents shall:
(1) register each wildlife resource presented at a
check station;
(2) issue a special possession tag, provided by the
department, for each wildlife resource presented at a check station;
(3) maintain records as prescribed in the record book
supplied by the department; and
(4) allow inspection of all check station records upon
request of the department during normal working hours.
(d) A person who fails or refuses to comply with this
section commits an offense and is in violation of this subchapter.
