SUBCHAPTER AOBJECTIVE, MISSION, AND PROGRAM
RULE §1.1Broad Objective
(a) The broad objective of the Texas Department of Public Safety is: "To maintain public safety in the State of Texas."

 (b) The department works toward the attainment of this objective within existing regulations and in cooperation with other agencies and persons with mutual or related responsibilities. It seeks to preserve the peace and to protect the persons, property, rights, and privileges of all people in the State of Texas.
