RULE §3.5Crash Investigation Information

Release of information. Members of the department will release information to those persons or agencies having a legitimate interest in a crash or incident, to the extent of that interest, including but not necessarily limited to:

  (1) drivers and passengers and their representatives such as insurance adjusters, attorneys, friends, or relatives who are attending to the affairs of a crash victim;

  (2) owners of vehicles or other damaged property or their representatives;

  (3) employer or employee of a crash victim;

  (4) news media;

  (5) interested government agencies;

  (6) prosecutors; or

  (7) courts.
