(a) A THSteps medical check-up provider must be properly licensed, as required under state law, and must be a: (1) Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy; (2) public or private health care provider or facility that can perform the required medical check-up procedures under a physician's direction and responsibility; (3) advanced practice nurse whose educational curriculum included courses of study in advanced pediatric physical assessment of infants, children and adolescents; or (4) physician assistant. (b) A THSteps dental provider must be either a Doctor of Dental Surgery or a Doctor of Dental Medicine who is currently licensed by the TSBDE. (c) THSteps providers have the right to limit their practice and the right to choose whether to serve an eligible client, but providers must comply with all related requirements of the TMPPM and all relevant laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination, including 1 TAC §354.1002 (relating to Compliance with Civil Rights Act). |
