(a) An audiology license is valid for two years from
the date of issuance and may be renewed biennially.
(b) A licensee is responsible for submitting all required
documentation and information and paying the renewal application fee
prior to the expiration date of the license.
(c) To renew an audiology license, a licensee must:
(1) submit a completed renewal application on a department-approved
form;
(2) complete 20 hours of continuing education as required
under §111.130;
(3) comply with the continuing education audit process
described under §111.132, if selected for an audit; and
(4) submit the license renewal fee required under §111.160.
(d) A licensee must successfully pass a criminal history
background check pursuant to Texas Occupations Code, Chapters 51 and
53, and the department's criminal conviction guidelines in order to
renew the license. The department will notify the licensee if the
person needs to submit new fingerprints.
(e) For each license renewal on or after September
1, 2020, the licensee must complete the human trafficking prevention
training required under Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 116, and provide
proof of completion as prescribed by the department.
(f) The department may deny the renewal of the license
pursuant to Texas Occupations Code §401.451.
(g) If all conditions required for renewal are met
prior to expiration, the department shall issue a renewed license.
(h) A person whose license has expired may late renew
the license in accordance with the procedures set out under §60.31
and §60.83 of this title.
(i) A person whose license has expired may not practice
or engage in audiology.
