(a) In research with a human participant, a licensee
must take reasonable precautions to ensure that the participant does
not suffer emotional or physical harm.
(b) A licensee must ensure the full protection of a
client's identity when using data obtained from a professional counseling
relationship for the purposes of education or research.
(c) When conducting or reporting research, a licensee
must give recognition to previous work on the topic as well as observe
all copyright laws.
(d) A licensee must give due credit through joint authorship,
acknowledgment, footnote statements, or other appropriate means to
the person/persons who have contributed significantly to the licensee's
research or publication.
