Ringside physicians shall perform the following duties:
(1) perform medical examinations on contestants at
the weigh-in to include a review of a contestant's answers to medical
questions on the application. Only the contestant, his manager, his
chief second, the ringside physician, and department representatives
are allowed in the examination room during the physical;
(2) remain at ringside at all times during the scheduled
bouts;
(3) immediately examine a contestant who suffers a
knockout, concussion, or other head injury; and
(4) conduct a post-contest examination that includes
the physician's recommendations for rest periods, medical suspensions,
medical disqualification, and any other exam results. Results of the
post contest examination shall be reported to the department within
one hour after an event.
