(a) If an anonymous report contains an allegation that
the health or safety of children is at risk, we will investigate the
report and any alleged deficiencies.
(b) If an anonymous report does not contain an allegation
that the health or safety of children is at risk, we will evaluate
the anonymous report to determine whether any alleged deficiency has
a factual basis.
(c) To evaluate the anonymous report, we:
(1) Check the operation's compliance history for similar
allegations or deficiencies; and
(2) Contact the operation and collaterals.
(d) If we find a factual basis for at least one alleged
deficiency, we will investigate the anonymous report.
(e) If we do not find a factual basis for any of the
alleged deficiencies, we will administratively close the anonymous
report.
