Preamble Texas Admin Code Rule

An attorney licensed and eligible to practice law in Texas [this state] is exempt from the requirements of the Act but cannot sponsor real estate salespersons or act [ serve] as the designated broker for a licensed business entity [officer or manager of a licensed corporation or limited liability company, or designated partner of a partnership] unless the attorney is also licensed as a real estate broker. This provision does not waive [is not a waiver of] the standards of eligibility and qualification elsewhere established in the Act.

The agency certifies that legal counsel has reviewed the proposal and found it to be within the state agency's legal authority to adopt.
