The use of specific methods, techniques, or modalities within
the practice of professional counseling is limited to professional
counselors appropriately trained and competent in the use of such
methods, techniques, or modalities. Authorized counseling methods
techniques and modalities may include, but are not restricted to,
the following:

(12)play therapy which utilizes play and play media
as the child's natural medium of self-expression, and verbal tracking
of the child's play behaviors and feelings as a part of
the therapist's role in helping children overcome their social, emotional,
and behavioral [mental] issues;

of this title (relating to Testing), which utilizes formal and informal
instruments and procedures, for which the counselor has received appropriate
training and supervision, in individual and group settings for the
purposes of determining the client's strengths and weaknesses, mental
status [condition], emotional stability, intellectual
ability, interests, aptitudes, achievement level and other [personal
] characteristics [for a better understanding of human
behavior, and] for diagnosing mental health disorders;
but does not permit the diagnosis of a physical condition or physical
disorder;
(17) - (18)(No change.)
The agency certifies that legal counsel has
reviewed the proposal and found it to be within the state agency's
legal authority to adopt.
