Preamble Texas Admin Code Rule

A dentist must submit a written report to the Board within 30 days after:

  (1)the death of a dental patient which occurred as a consequence of the receipt of dental services from the reporting dentist; or

  (2)injury to a dental patient requiring admission to a hospital, as a consequence of receiving dental services from the reporting dentist.

  (3)The receipt of the report shall not be considered in the nature of a complaint unless the Enforcement Committee determines that the circumstances surrounding the patient death should be investigated by the Board.

This agency hereby certifies that the adoption has been reviewed by legal counsel and found to be a valid exercise of the agency's legal authority.
