Preamble Texas Admin Code Rule

(a)Birth certificates.

  (1)The state registrar, local registrar, or county clerk shall issue only two types of certified copies [records for births ]:

    (A)(No change.)

    (B)an abstract [or certification ] of birth facts, taken from the original record. Probate [except for probate ] records and delayed records which may not be abstracted. An abstract [or certification of birth facts] shall be issued in one of four styles:

      (i)a standard certified abstract [or certification; ];

      (ii)a wallet-sized certified abstract [or certification];

      (iii)a typewritten certified abstract prepared in accordance with [Title 3,] Health and Safety Code, §192.005 or [and] §192.011, or when the condition of the original record does not permit full reproduction; or

      (iv)an heirloom style certified abstract which may only be issued by the State Registrar [or certification ].

  (2)(No change.)

  (3)All certified copies [or abstracts] of birth records shall include at a minimum the following information, if known:

    (A)-(I)(No change.)

    (J)date certified copy issued;

    (K)-(M)(No change.)

(b)Death certificates.

  (1)The state registrar, local registrar, or county clerk shall issue only two types of certified copies [death certificates ]:

    (A)(No change.)

    (B)a certified [certification or] abstract of death facts, taken from the original record.

  (2)All certified copies [certifications or abstracts] of death records shall include as a minimum:

    (A)-(H)(No change.)

    (I)date certified copy issued;

    (J)-(L)(No change.)

(c)-(e)(No change.)
