(a)As provided by this section, each dentist who administers enteral conscious sedation or performs a procedure for which anesthesia is enterally administered under the provisions of rules 110.1, 110.2 and 110.3 of this title (relating to Enteral Conscious Sedation), must be authorized by permit from the Board no later than September 1, 2002. [Unless specifically provided otherwise, the provisions of rules 110.1, 110.2 and 110.3 of this title (relating to Enteral Conscious Sedation) will become effective December 31, 2001.] (b)A dentist not satisfying the requirements established by rules 110.1, 110.2 and 110.3 of this title (relating to Enteral Conscious Sedation) and not eligible for issuance of a permit by the Board by September 1, 2002, shall not administer enteral conscious sedation or perform a procedure by which anesthesia is enterally administered until he or she has satisfied the requirements of this section and authorized by permit from the Board to do so.
