The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners adopts an amendment to §573.65, concerning Definitions, without changes to the proposed text as published in the April 30, 2010, issue of the Texas Register (35 TexReg 3398) and will not be republished. The amendment clarifies that the designated caretaker is required to be under the appropriate level of supervision as set out by Board rules, if any are applicable. This change is to ensure the appropriate involvement of a licensed veterinarian in the treatment of an animal if necessary. No comments were received regarding the adoption of the amendment. The amendment is adopted under the authority of the Veterinary Licensing Act, Occupations Code, §801.151(a) which states that the Board may adopt rules necessary to administer the chapter. |
