The Texas Department of Information Resources (department) adopts the repeal of 1 TAC Chapter 201, concerning Planning and Management of Information Resources Technologies, and new 1 TAC Chapter 201, General Administration. New §201.1 is adopted with changes to the proposed text as published in the June 24, 2011, issue of the Texas Register (36 TexReg 3755) and will be republished. The repeal of §§201.1, 201.2, 201.4 - 201.6, 201.9, 201.15, and 201.17 and new §§201.2 - 201.5 are adopted without changes and will not be republished.

The repeal and new chapter are necessary and result from a rule review of 1 TAC Chapter 201, notice of which was published in the March 4, 2011, issue of the Texas Register (36 TexReg 1567). The changes to the chapter apply to state agencies and institutions of higher education.

The department received no comments during the 30-day comment period.

The repeal is adopted pursuant to §2054.052(a), Texas Government Code, which authorizes the department to adopt rules as necessary to implement its responsibilities under Chapter 2054, Texas Government Code.
