Texas Register Preamble


The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (Coordinating Board) proposes new §§1.206 - 1.212, concerning the creation of the Undergraduate Education Advisory Committee. The proposed new sections are in accordance with Senate Bill 215 passed by the 83rd Texas Legislature, Regular Session. Specifically, these new sections govern the purpose, membership, meeting requirements, tasks, reporting requirements, and abolishment date of the Undergraduate Education Advisory Committee.

Ms. Linda Battles, Associate Commissioner/Chief of Staff, has determined that for each year of the first five years the sections are in effect, there will not be any fiscal implications to state or local government as a result of enforcing or administering the sections.

Ms. Battles has also determined that for each year of the first five years the sections are in effect, the public benefit anticipated as a result of administering the sections will be the efficient and transparent administration of advisory committees. There is no effect on small businesses. There are no anticipated economic costs to persons who are required to comply with the sections as proposed. There is no impact on local employment.

The new sections are proposed under Texas Government Code, Chapter 2110, which provides the Coordinating Board with the authority to create advisory committees.
