The State Board of Dental Examiners (Board) adopts an amendment to §107.63, concerning informal disposition and alternative dispute resolution. The amendment is adopted without changes to the proposed text as published in the September 20, 2013, issue of the Texas Register (38 TexReg 6146).

The amendment to §107.63 is adopted to implement House Bill 3201 (83rd Legislature, Regular Session) and implement the Board's new investigatory requirements.

The Board received one written comment from the Texas Dental Association in support of the proposed amendment.

The amendment to §107.63 is adopted under Texas Occupations Code §254.001(a). The Board interprets §254.001(a) to give the Board authority to adopt rules necessary to perform its duties and ensure compliance with state law relating to the practice of dentistry to protect the public health and safety.

No other statutes, articles, or codes are affected by this adoption.
