The State Board of Dental Examiners (Board) adopts an amendment to §102.1, concerning the Board's fee schedule. The rule is adopted without changes to the proposed text as published in the September 13, 2013, issue of the Texas Register (38 TexReg 5979) and will not be republished.

The amendment to §102.1 is adopted to implement the requirements of Senate Bill 1 and House Bill 3201 (83rd Legislature, Regular Session) which increased the fees.

The Board received one written comment from the Texas Dental Association (TDA) in support of the proposed amendment.

The amendment of §102.1 is adopted under Texas Occupations Code §254.001(a). The Board interprets §254.001(a) to give the Board authority to adopt rules necessary to perform its duties and ensure compliance with state law relating to the practice of dentistry to protect the public health and safety.

No other statutes, articles, or codes are affected by this adoption.
