The Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB) adopts on an emergency basis amendments to 22 TAC §153.9, concerning Applications. The amendments are adopted on an emergency basis to implement the new application exemption announced by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) on October 21, 2014, for persons who served on active duty in the military between December 1, 2011, and December 31, 2014.

The amendments authorize the Board to evaluate applications consistent with the exemptions authorized by the AQB.

The amendments are adopted on an emergency basis under Texas Occupations Code, §1103.151, which authorizes the TALCB to adopt rules relating to certificates and licenses, and §1103.152, which authorizes TALCB to prescribe qualifications for appraisers that are consistent with the qualifications established by the AQB.
